DESCRIPTION: APW - Columbus, Railway King, 16J, 18S, gold-filled false box hinge HC recase with attractive floral engraving detail, Giles "Anti-Magnetic Shield" cuvette and mvt ring, "Columbus Railway King" marked white enamel DS dial with locomotive image, SW-LS, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, gilt mvt plate screws and regulator assembly, s#224214.
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, balance wheel will sometimes tick with excess pressure held to crown, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, good two-tone color, scattered fine and micro-fine scratches to plates, oxide to regulator assembly; dial with outer chapter hl at 3:30, few additional scattered faint outer chapter hls elsewhere; fine hands; case with metal loss to its inner rear lip at the position of one of the mvt case screws which is causing mvt to have some looseness within case, this will need to be addressed either via repair of the lip or insertion of a spacer beneath the case screw for mvt to be secured within case, case shows light wear, shallow compression type denting of front and rear, reduced engine turning and engraving detail with portions of full loss at shoulders, strips of wear to brass to pendant and to band, partial rings of finish loss to cuvette edge and shoulder; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
